November 2008 - Wolverine Advanced Materials Opens Extended Test Field in Ohringen,
Germany
Wolverine Advanced Materials celebrated the grand opening of its
extended test field earlier this month at the company’s Ohringen,
Germany facility. The 300-square-meter test field features a
State-of-the-art Link Brake NVH Dynamometer.
“We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Wolverine’s
extended test field at our Ohringen, Germany facility,” said Scott
Koepke, president of Wolverine. “Our additional testing capabilities
and world class technologies will help us better support our
customers and further enhance their products.”
The event was well attended by many of Wolverine’s top-level
customers including
Continental Teves AG, TRW Automotive GmbH, Robert Bosch GmbH, TMD
Friction GmbH, ITT Italia S.r.l., Federal Mogul Friction Products,
Akebono Europe and Link Europe – who were all exceptionally pleased
with the new facility.
The new Link Dynamometer 3900 features a double wall, walk-in
thermal noise-insulated brake enclosure and provides capability for
noise and vibration testing of brake corner and axle fixtures. The
system has the ability to reproduce a wide range of brake noise
issues from low to high frequency sounds, and incorporates
state-of-the-art technology for optimal correlation to actual
operating conditions.
Wolverine’s new extended test facility and Link Dynamometer will add
significant testing capabilities to its existing manufacturing,
sales and development, technical support, and research and design
operations. The R&D center is now even better positioned in its
material advancement initiative – with a current portfolio of more
than 100 materials and another 150 in development.
Wolverine has also made significant strides in cold noise
development through strategic analysis of damping characteristics of
several physical properties.
