24th March 2010 - Carlisle Announces Creation of Carlisle Engineered Transportation Solutions

Carlisle Companies announced in December 2009, the creation of Carlisle Engineered Transportation Solutions which is comprised of Carlisel Tire & Wheel, Carlisle Industrial Brake & Friction, and Carlisle Power Transmission.  As one integrated strategic operating unit, ETS will enable Carlisle to leverage synergies and best practices amongst the three companies while preserving the unique aspects that have made each business successful.  All three companies are already market leaders in many of the markets they serve.  Combining them into one operating unit will strengthen the value of the Carlisle brand, create a differentiated platform for their markets, and bolster Carlisle's position with key manufacturing and distribution customers.

According to Fred Sutter, company President, "We are extremely excited about the opportunities and market potential of a combined Tire & Wheel, Power Transmissions and Industrial Brake & Friction business unit.  Combined, we will be the leading supplier of specialty tires, wheels, belts, brakes and friction materials to the markets that we serve".
